About Rhubarb Pie

Picture
Rhubarb Pie is a literary magazine by and for the students and staff of Wachusett Regional High School.

As with so many origin stories, the beginnings of Rhubarb Pie have been somewhat obscured by time. According to the yearbook archive
, Wachusett's literary magazine began as Reflections in 1969.

Picture
It continued under that name until 1981 when the name was changed to rhubarb pie by Ms. Rubenstein and Mr. Moore. Ms. Rubenstein continued to support and publish the magazine until 2015.

After a brief respite, we have renewed Rhubarb Pie, now available in the digital form you see before you. Although much has changed in photography, clothes, hairstyles, and media, our mission remains similar to the one expressed in the 1982 Yearbook: Rhubarb Pie will continue to be "Wachusett's creative arts magazine." In this current iteration, we hope to expand the magazine to include music, video art, slam poetry, and a variety of other content previously unavailable. Building on the past and moving into the future, we envision Rhubarb Pie as an open and inclusive art space where Wachusett students can publish their original work to improve their craft and showcase their skills.

If you would like to contribute or contact us, please email emily_reynolds@wrsd.net and/or karl_hartshorn@wrsd.net.

We hope you enjoy!

Ms. Reynolds and Mr. Hartshorn
